Dukes show commitment to helping genuinely vulnerable persons within the local community
At Dukes our commitment to helping genuinely vulnerable persons isn’t limited to removing fees. This year our team has chosen to share the monies raised throughout the year from ‘dress down’ days to our Local Food Bank in Stoke on Trent and our Local Douglas Macmillan Hospice.
Local Food Bank (Stone-On-Trent)
1 in every 5 people in the UK live below the poverty line, that's why we donated a healthy amount of £460 to buy food items for the food bank appeal this Christmas.
The Food Bank provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred in crisis. They are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
Douglas Macmillan Hospice
Some of our team have experienced first hand the amazing care that the Hospice provides. That's why we've chosen for the second year running, to donate the remaining £100 of our charity fund to Dougie Mac.
Dougie Mac are a local charity in Stoke-On-Trent and the only adult hospice within North Staffordshire caring for local people with life limiting illnesses.
