Introducing Julie Smethurst IRRV (Hons) Client Partnership Manager at Dukes

As we enter a new decade, we are thrilled to welcome Julie Smethurst IRRV (Hons) to the team as Client Partnership Manager.

Julie is an experienced manager who brings considerable knowledge and expertise to Dukes in billing, collection and enforcement of Local Taxation; continuous improvement of service delivery and partnership working.

Having worked in the field of Local Authority Revenues for 28 years, Julie started her career at Oldham M.B.C undertaking various posts before moving to Lancaster City Council in 2006 as Local Taxation Manager. In 2010 she became Revenues Manager for Preston and Lancaster’s Shared Revenue and Benefits Service, successfully leading four teams over two sites through many great changes and obstacles.

Julie is an active member of the IRRV; a past President and Executive Committee member of the Lancashire and Cheshire Association and a regular speaker at their events and seminars. She has also been a guest speaker at various seminars for stakeholder events detailing the improvements made by Preston and Lancaster.

It’s a pleasure to welcome Julie on board to ensure that our clients continue to receive the service they’re entitled to. I am confident that her experience will assist our purposeful growth programme whilst maintaining the standards that clients are used to.
— Colin Naylor, Founder & CEO

Having recently taken the somewhat daunting decision to leave local government and seek new challenges, I am delighted to be joining Dukes as Client Partnership Manager. I have always been impressed with their commitment to ethical enforcement, continuous improvement, diligence, innovation, honesty and transparency, fairness and compassion; all of which sit perfectly with my own ethos.

As a family run firm, it has a unique welcoming and friendly environment and the essence of teamwork pervades throughout the whole organisation, combined with infectious drive and ambition. I am excited to be able to contribute to their continued success and work closely with our Clients to provide the bespoke services necessary to achieve their collection targets.
