In-house training strengthens Sheffield City Council's partnership with Dukes

Last year, Sheffield City Council faced a resourcing issue when one of their in-house enforcement team was unexpectedly taken absent from work for a prolonged period.

With all of our Enforcement Agents trained by our award-winning Agent, Mark Bytheway, Rachel Labas, ICAM Assistant Manager at Sheffield City Council, contacted us to see if we could provide training to two Trainee Enforcement Agents to get them ready to be deployed and certificated as soon as possible.

Overnight we assigned our local Senior Enforcement Agent, Andrew Dodd, to provide on-the-job training. The training took place over a 7-week period, allowing Trainees, Kishan and Joe, to learn the ropes and become better equipped to handle all recovery situations. Andrew covered all aspects of PCN enforcement and provided in-depth training on Taking Control of Goods legislation and conflict management.

Rachel, ICAM Assistant Manager was impressed with the alignment of our ethical approach with the council’s core values and was thrilled with the new skills learned by the trainee agents, including effective communication, negotiation, and persuasive techniques.

Rachel expressed her gratitude for our quick response to their training needs :

“We recently reached out to Dukes to see if they could help with some on-the-job training for two new starters within our in-house enforcement team, and they immediately offered a solution.  We were particularly impressed with the training that was provided by their Enforcement Agent, Andrew. Andrew’s thorough training, enabled our agents to learn new skills, including effective communication, negotiation, persuasive techniques and conflict management. The training and support provided will be particularly advantageous in our agent’s future roles and it was positive to see Andrew’s style of enforcement was very ethical, aligning with our core values. We were grateful for Dukes’ quick response to our training needs and look forward to continuing to work in partnership with Dukes in the future.

With thanks to our trustworthy and effective training, with in as little as two months, Sheffield City Council bounced back and was ready to handle their in-house recovery cases. We’re pleased that our successful training has strengthened our partnership with Sheffield City Council.
